It pains me to start a post with “do not upgrade,” but in this case I must. For those who have previously licensed Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is not an upgrade, but rather a path to yet another revenue stream for Adobe: don’t do it. Yes, this “upgrade” will require you to tithe even more to Adobe in perpetuity; it is not an “upgrade,” but another Adobe grab for your wallet.
Adobe Creative Cloud says “Update” to Acrobat DC, but what it does not tell you is that if you do so, you will be locked in to Adobe for $14.99 per month from now until forever.
Again, for those of you who have licensed Adobe Acrobat Pro X, don’t do it. Should you do so, you will be faced with a multi-hour challenge of getting your old licensed Adobe Acrobat Pro X back. Not an easy task. In short, you must:
Uninstall Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
Uninstall all of Adobe CS
Reinstall all of Adobe CS
And, yes, Adobe, all this could have been avoided by warning your users that Adobe Acrobat DC is a paid “upgrade,” rather than a simple update.
